  Q) Is it important to let my hardwood flooring acclimate before installation?  A) Yes, it is necessary to let your new flooring acclimate to the temperature and humidity levels of the room/ area in which it will be installed. Q) Can I install engineered wood flooring over my existing hardwood floors?  A) Yes HDF engineered flooring may be installed over the following existing substrates; wood, plywood, tile, marble, Linoleum or vinyl. Q) Can HDF engineered hardwood flooring be sanded and or refinished?   A) No, sanding down your HDF engineered flooring would remove the flooring seven layers of aluminum oxide and the finishing coat of oil base polyurethane. Q) What can cause gaps on my hardwood flooring?  A) Gaps can appear on joints between floor boards due to air conditioning. Seasonal variation, under floor heating or exposure to and subsequent  drying of excessive water.
